GENERAL SUMMARY

The Application Specialist’s role is to assist in the planning, coordinating, and architecting all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions as required to meet the business requirements of the organization. This individual will assist the testing of the interoperability of application modules under development by in-house software development, commercial off-the-shelf software deployed in the organization, and with external third parties as necessary. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in defining of the application architecture for the application portfolio.
  • Participates on a cross-functional team of Application and Technical Analysts and Architects to design an enterprise architecture that utilizes our portfolio standards and direction.
  • Provides support to the team in the area of continuity in all major application solution decisions.
  • Assists in ensuring that integration and technology projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  •  Assists in gathering of application requirements for infrastructure planning.
  • Supports the applications team effort to ensure adherence to technology and security standards.
  • Serves as a participant of the IS &S; Change Control Board (CCB)
  • Assists the team in various functional areas for architecture design for:
    • Technology Components
    • Integration
    • Production Readiness
    • Security

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline required.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in relevant IT experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Teamcenter PLM system administration with the ability to administer Project with minimal supervision. 
  • Experience with implementing Siemens applications: Teamcenter 11.x, Change management, Requirements management, Workflow development, Bill of material & Bill of process, Data modeling, Active workspace, T4S and multi-CAD integrations
  • Ability to guide, configure and deploy Engineering applications: FEA & CAE – Hypermesh, ANSA, ADAMS, LS-Dyna, Nastran, ABACUS, Simcenter, Multi-CAD – NX 11 & CREO & CATIA
  • Augmented reality and Virtual reality software 
  • Experience in server sizing - evaluating performance and scalability.
  • Demonstrated technical development in creating attributes, changing workflows, and creating system reports
  • Experience with Teamcenter CAD managers with the ability to create client CAD integrations as required.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter datamodel, part/item attribute mapping, bill of material structures, and data management methods
  •  Experience with monitoring software, troubleshooting, and usage analysis. Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including MS Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL EFFORTS

  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity so as to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner. This includes regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate. 
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: must be able to regularly coordinate one’s eyes with one’s fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks.
  • Manual Dexterity: must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movement with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as phone, computer, and other office equipment, tools, or controls. 
  • Agility: must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, Company’s property surrounding facility, or additional work areas.  
  • Climbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balance.
  • Lifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Physical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.
  • Stamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and copy, fax and scanning machines. Employee must be able to perform job functions with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable under these conditions.
