GENERAL SUMMARY

Support the strategic development and maintenance of the benefit programs to ensure they are aligned with the AMGBOS, are fiscally responsible, market competitive and support the attraction and retention of high performing talent by promoting AMG’s value proposition. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight and management of AM General’s total reward programs that include a comprehensive benefit and compensation programs.
  • Working directly or with 3rd parties, conducts analysis and benchmarking of AM General’s total reward programs.
  • Directly administer AM Generals leave of absence programs to include disability leaves and FMLA and COBRA.
  • Manage vendor relationships including conducting vendor analysis and negotiations, including managing the vemdor RFP process.
  • Direct the preparation, development, and distribution of employee communications regarding health, welfare and retirement benefit.
  • Collaborates with the HR team to conduct compensation analyses, inclusive of recommendations for new hires, internal promotions, counteroffers, and job evaluations, while reinforcing the company’s compensation philosophy.
  • Executes and leads annual salary and incentive planning processes such as training, systems testing, data validation, and detailed compensation analysis.
  • Ensures all compensation programs are in compliance with government standards and labor laws. Includes responsibility for compensation audits, including interface with OFCCP and legal.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and managers to conduct job analyses to ensure appropriate FLSA classification, job leveling, and job family assignments.
  • Support incentive plan design and administration of select non-executive incentive programs to ensure plan participation, design, and payouts are aligned to business objectives.
  • Assist in the development of company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and analyze union benefits demands. Obtain and prepare cost data for company and union proposals and final settlements.
  • Manage the company’s annual benefit enrollment process.
  • Ensure all plans are compliant with various state and federal laws.
  • Prepare and execute, with legal consultation, benefit documents such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies; ensure insurance carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company effectively implement changes in benefit program.
  • Administer company HRIS systems.
  • Conduct benefit training with HR partners.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • A bachelor’s degree in Organization Development, Business Administration, or related field with five years or more years of experience in benefit and compensation administration.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks effectively and to work both independently and in a team environment including cross functional IPT’s.
  • Excellent communication skills and high level of initiative.
  • Advanced level proficiency of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • The ability to run, create, analyze and manage data with the goal of making recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations such as ERISA, FMLA, ACA and COBRA.
  • CEBS, CBP and/or SHRM benefit certifications highly desirable.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects up to 25 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers/scanning, fax machines, and file cabinets.

TRAVEL

Up to 25% travel may be required.
